One thing that Melbourne and New Zealand has really spoilt us for is good coffee. It is easy to find a good cup of tea in England, but good coffee is in short supply (The Costa-fication of the high street is terrible, but frankly, that chain of bland, but drinkable coffee hasn’t caused the closure of many decent alternatives.).
There are a couple of reasonable cafes in Axminster (more to follow on that town later, no doubt), but the stand out for us has been the strangely named Amid Giants and Idols in Silver Street, Lyme Regis. The owner even knows how to make a Flat White (unlike Flat White in Soho, sob!). Pure Caffeine Joy.
