Harbour Kitchens: Another Helping…

The very first Harbour Kitchens cookbook came out in late 2009 and was a fundraising effort (as is the new release) for the Lyttelton Primary School. The creative volunteer forces behind the first book approached well known Christchurch chef Richard Till to write the introduction. And he confesses in his introduction to having quite a bit of trepidation initially, as he imagined he would be getting a hand scribbled, stapled mess that he would need to find some kind words for.

Low & behold, he was more than pleasantly surprised & somewhat shocked to be given a seriously professional & stylish cookbook. The Harbour Kitchens was such an enormous success on so many fronts that some local folks decided it deserved repeating, so we now have Harbour Kitchens: Another Helping.

The Book Launch Menu

As Lyttelton local Joe Bennett so aptly described the book as ‘the port on a plate’ as it is not only chocka with local’s recipes, but also stuffed cover to cover with Lyttelton stories. And the crew behind the book somehow managed to talk a lot of talented Lyttelton locals to contribute their skills as professional photographers (besides an awesome cookbook it also passes as a beautiful photography book), editors, marketing & design folks.
